Aaron came to visit for Valentine's, and we went to a swing dance formal dressed to the nines. :D Funnnnn.

Got around to scanning stuff while I'm in Mtown on spring break. Holla! Hope for more to come, these are sooper messy, but I think the messy style has been helping me think more about composition and body mechanics.

Commission presketch for [Ch!ps]. This is my most recent thing in this update, I believe. The problem is just that I either scan sketches for editing and eventual publishing as full gallery pieces (I colour them), or I don't scan them at all and they pile up. :D It was actually hard finding these images to upload -- my sketch folder is almost completely empty of 2008 entries! But these are some that are either now finished or in progress or just... lame. :D I'm going to make more of an effort to scan my sketches and post my little speedpaints up here this 2009. <3

In Fiction and Anthro (obviously) class the other day. One girl in one of my classes seems incapable of talking about anything except in terms of some personal anecdote. It's less-than-charming to say the least. I vent my frustrations with little drawings. But I only ever seem to draw myself. :D

Yeah, yeah.... XD I started dating my high school sweetheart again last year. Weird how people end up reconnecting.

Well, it's true! Thus, I've been uploading a ton of stuff to my gallery, but don't actually have much to put up here. I will start sketching more regularly now, and posting. :D

Mirabelle is my newest in my "cute theme girls" series (I know, really original and insightful). She is an aerial artist in a traveling circus in Europe. She's French, lol.

This is a concept sketch I've been toying with... She's gonna be "Red in the Rain," so like an urban Miami-style Red Riding in da Hood.

Cerifaux. Playing with pelvic styles... don't like this one, but eh, I like the rest of it.

Title of the file is "Some chick"... but I think it's turning out to be another one of Stella. She's a little slouchy, but the ass is kindof nice. XD

The rest of these are pieces I've already completed and uploaded to my deviantart, but that I just really liked the sketches of. Some of the finished pieces are great, but I like being able to show the underlying structure (you know, before I screwed it up!).

Gaia avvie. I erased the wings when I was working on it, but she has headwings and backwings. This avatar has somewhat become my Princess of Hearts character... she got away from me.

Yeah, these are all Gaia.

Princess of Hearts goes to the Masquerade. I had one in my thread, so this one is finished too, but I'm not sure if I like the finished version better... I may redo the colouring for it, since I really like the sketch.

I'm uploading all the crap I scanned today. It's hard for me to get around to scanning frequently... I think maybe I should just scan everything each day that I've done, so that I don't end up with a pile of stuff to scan. I don't like getting up every five seconds to change out pages in my scanner (which is slightly farther away from my desk than would make sense).

Anyway, here's one of Lyselle I was gonna do for Halloween (you can see how long some of this crap's been sitting here). I was trying to do all of my characters as typical Halloween costumes--Cerifox was a witch, Steven was the banana from Peanut Butter Jelly Time, and Lyselle was a skank maid. :3 I will see if I can find the witch and banana costumes around here (I actually did get them all drawn, weirdly enough).
And then this weird thing I was doing of Lyselle with some stars on strings. I am playing with glowy effects in photoshop, so if I finish it I'll do some of that on it. :3 I would obviously be resizing her hand later, but it was at the edge of the paper so I couldn't sketch out her arm to figure out proportions. :(

See, I am still drawing faces sometimes. :) I like the one on the top middle, and the middle of the second row too. And there is also a face of a guy in my anthro class who wanted me to draw him. Haha, see, I can sometimes attempt realism (and epic fail).
Moar faces. I shaded one as an experiment. I was in my Death Penalty class while I was doing most of these, and our teacher isn't very good with the Socratic Method (we are all lost and miserable). And then below that one is a reference to The Death of Socrates for the class, where Socrates is like "no, you should be giving me food, not killing me lol." And a list of artists I felt were really cool and should be studied more closely.

Lawl faces. I like these. :) I had a cool hairstyle that day.

Mmmm Sweeney Todd fanart. I did this on the plane without refs, so I just made up a costume for her. :3 I wanted to emphasize her amazing tits. (Helena Bonham Carter has some nice tits in that movie XD)
This isn't exactly a sketch, but it's not the pretty version I uploaded to deviantart. This is the version without all the fog in the front of the chick, so you can actually see the ahhmyeyes color that was there before the fog toned it back so much. The lines are done by Cillianschainsaw. I coloured this for her as a art-trade type thing of sorts. It was nice colouring someone else's lines for once. :3
These are a couple of headshot I did for Gaia kids. I'll upload them to my main gallery's scraps eventually.

Wah wah, boo hoo. I really need to just start updating. I update my scraps on deviantart more than this thing, and the point was to update this with sketches that deviantart didn't get to see. So we'll try that from now on. Meantime, I have lots to poast.

Furry chibi sketchdump...

I was an angel for the holiday season this year (Halloween, costume parties, etc). This is basically what I wore. I actually had a bartending gig in this getup, which went over really well except for being sketched out by all the old guys with their wives scheming on me... hmmm.

David, at his compy comp, on my bed. I decided I needed more life-drawing experience. That was short-lived... XD

Been doing alot in this style lately.

TiltedHalo is a character I've always wanted to draw, and now I get to, in exchange for a devart subscription. I'm such an artwhore.

This is the biggest pain in the ass drawing... but I love it nonetheless. This is a commission for JKRolak, of his fairy Nalini (pretty name).

And this is the sketch for the juggling poster I completed this summer. It was for our public show, which turned out to be a HUGE success. I'm so happy to be a part of juggling club, because not only did I learn all kinds of new tricks, I met some really amazing friends and got to do some meaningful work with the poster. I was really happy with how it came out, but it's very different from the sketch (proportions especially). :)

Thaaat's all I've got for now. :) Hopefully I will post before six months has passed again. :(

Sorry, I had to acronymize it. The REAL title is: "Look at me! I'm snooty and pretentious!"

Yeeeaaaah.

So I was at juggling club tonight, and there was some sort of concert going on nearby, so there were about a thousand weird little emo kids around. Don't get me wrong. I love emo kids. But these weren't my kind of emo kids. These were "hipsters." In other words, the most horribly snooty and pretentious and asshole-y emo kids. They looked like high schoolers high on too much angst and drama. Meanwhile, I kept juggling as long as I could, and then decided to draw one of them. This is prettymuch a conglomeration of every kid there. It was really horrible. They were very rude, too. Nyeh.

I'm not sure if it's Steven on crack or not. It might just be. But I would never let him get that kind of a lip piercing. Rings are okay, but those stupid studs are pointless, ugly and PRETENTIOUS.

I should probably stop using that word. I hang around Kevin too much.

Oh, and he's not really that short. He's just slouching to an insane degree. Check out that hip-jut, man. You could poke someone's eye out with that sort of thing...

This is one I did from the expressions sheet. The lineart was clean, and I was sad, so I coloured it. That's basically the entire motivation, right there. Nothing complicated. Nothing cosmic. Kindof like meeee.

I've been idling doodling character drawings of my boyfriend in some of my classes, trying to pin down a character design for him. Tonight I think I may have succeeded, somewhat. It's still not quite right, so I'll just keep at it.

The first was in Chemistry... he's German/Italian. Hence the German. And he has a pacman shirt. XD But this was totally a superficial drawing, and didn't represent his character at all. I was just going for general hotness.

The second was in Proseminar... which is why it was on lined legal paper. I can get rid of the lines on normal looseleaf, but legal paper's a bitch. So there are lines. This is why I have a rule about lined paper. I was trying to leave my regular paper at home so I WOULDN'T draw in class... but art finds a way. Anyway... this is a little closer to him. He juggles. XD But he told me that the placement of hands and balls is all wrong. I had no reference, and little exposure to the "art of juggling," so I'm otherwise pretty happy with it. But he looks more like Duncan Shiek sounds, more than anything. Not quite Manfred-y.

Yay. Finally. Tonight's drawing is much closer to him, and given the fact that I used some graphical references, it damn well better be. Or I'd be sad. There's a joke in choir about Manfred having far too many balls at any one time, so yeah. And I used a reference for the pose, so yay. I'm probably going to go ahead and ink this one, and colour it--he needs a LJ icon badly.

Reading's the worst. My teacher's fucking retarded. He doesn't look at the stuff he's grading half the time, and actually (embaressedly) admitted it to me when I asked about my grade the other day. I was pissed. And since then, I've decided he's full of shit.
